From Wired comes this interesting article about the investment arm of the CIA - In-Q-Tel; making an investment into social media monitoring software maker Visible Technologies.
In-Q-Tel spokesperson Donald Tighe says that they have "an interested end customer" in the intelligence community for Visible. One can join the dots in guessing who that 'end customer' will be.
An interesting piece being reported by Biology News Net is the one about "New World" Chilli seeds, plus other crop species' seeds being given by the USDA's Agricultural Research Service and handed over by US Congressman to Dr. Cary Fowler, Executive Director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust, an institution which manages the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway's Arctic region.

From the US news site, ProPublica, comes this report showing that 26 US States are now borrowing funds from the Federal Government in order to continue paying Unemployment Insurance to their constituency. The 26 States are doing this because their respective State level Unemployment Trusts have run out of money to pay claims, and are thus, relying on a US Federal Government handout.

From Pedestrian.tv, comes this interesting Entertainment news gossip of SBS TV's surprise hit show "Wilfred": about a Man (Adam), a Woman (Sarah) and her Dog (Wilfred), who thinks he's human; being adopted by David Zuckerman.
Zuckerman, the creator of hit black comedy cartoon TV shows: The Family Guy; and American Dad, will have Elijah Wood (Frodo from the Lord of the Rings series) playing the role of the Man (Adam), Jason Gann, the original SBS cast member will continue playing the Dog (Wilfred).
The ongoing "Inflation vs. Deflation" Debate had us thinking lately. Yes, you may claim that this "thinking" is dangerous. And even though it is foolhardy to make any inference from this data, we will still add to the noise by presenting it here.
